Proud of her catch, she trotted through the leaf litter. She found a dry spot and buried the mouse. Dew then slipped into the bushes and looked for more prey, her light gray pelt was slowly swallowed by the shadows.
*******
The sparrow flew off as Dew stepped on a half-buried leaf. Hissing with disappointment, Dew unburied her catches and brought them back to the hollow log that she, Storm, and Star lived in.The leaves brushed her pelt. She saw Storm sunbathing only a few fox lengths away. "Storm!" Dew called happily, her mew muffled by her catches, a mouse and a rabbit. Storm leapt to his feet, surprised.
"Oh," he breathed, "Dew, hello. Looks like the prey is running well." Storm dipped his head in greeting.
"Lets go home." Dew meowed. And they walked to the log, purring.
