Gray-blue lights,
Peer through the grass.
Pricked, round-tipped ears,
Set atop the stalks.
Long tail of gold,
Strikes the sky with light.
Strong, silent paws,
Softly scuff the earth as she approaches.
Sunlight glints off her pelt
Noting seen but golden stalks.
Wild winds stir her pelt,
And she strikes.
The huntress darts from the grass,
Flames of blue burning in her gaze.
Armed with claws, armed with teeth,
She races toward her target.
Claws flash,
Teeth glint against the sun.
A battle won over by the huntress.
The warrior of the Savannah,
The hunter of the wind and flames.
She fights to keep her life,
For, her very survival is threatened by the man's gun.
Gray-blue eyes of fire,
Sharp white teeth of ivory,
Black spots of soot against pelt of beautiful gold,
Threatened by the man's gun.
