Sky of Darkness

Flying in the sky,
Light as a feather.
Into the chilly night,
Flying forever.

Stars glow in the darkness,
With a welcoming light.
Sparkling with all colors,
Twinkling yellow, red, and blue.

Moon shining,
Piercing through the blackness.
Empty expanse,
Pulling you away from all light.

Sinister silence,
Numb cold,
Eerie, icy night.

Nothingness for infinity,
Empty sky of darkness,
Cold and empty.
Flying forever.

Canary Limerick

Canary, a little orange cat,
When sad, her ears press flat.
A cute cat, a tiny kitty,
With snow-white paws, very pretty.
Canary, a tiny tabby cat.

The Huntress

Gray-blue lights,
Peer through the grass.
Pricked, round-tipped ears,
Set atop the stalks.

Long tail of gold,
Strikes the sky with light.
Strong, silent paws,
Softly scuff the earth as she approaches.

Sunlight glints off her pelt
Noting seen but golden stalks.
Wild winds stir her pelt,
And she strikes.

The huntress darts from the grass,
Flames of blue burning in her gaze.
Armed with claws, armed with teeth,
She races toward her target.

Claws flash,
Teeth glint against the sun.
A battle won over by the huntress.

The warrior of the Savannah,
The hunter of the wind and flames.
She fights to keep her life,
For, her very survival is threatened by the man's gun.

Gray-blue eyes of fire,
Sharp white teeth of ivory,
Black spots of soot against pelt of beautiful gold,
Threatened by the man's gun.

Raggedy Ann and Star #2

Raggedy Ann and Star woke up and went into the kitchen. Raggedy Ann got a packet of oatmeal out of the cupboard and put the oatmeal in her bowl. When Ann, (Ann is Raggedy Ann's nickname), looked down she saw little Star looking at her and wagging her tail.

"Oh no," cried Ann. "I completely forgot all about you!" Raggedy Ann almost yelled. "I will feed and water you right this second." and so Ann and Star went into the laundry room. Then Raggedy Ann fed and watered Star. Star was very pleased. Star and Raggedy Ann ate there food.

Eclipse

Red-rimmed shadow,
Darkening the starry sky.
Ink-black circle,
Snuffing out the sun.

A halo of orange,
Peeks out from the darkness,
Reaching out for the sky.

A moonless night,
A starry sky,
A suffocating darkness,
Wrapped around the earth.

Battle between sun and moon,
Battle for the sky.
Flame-toned lights of life,
Ever-lasting darkest night.

Sun breaks away,
From its black bonds.
Light returns to earth,
The darkness has ended.

Red-rimmed shadow,
Darkening the starry sky.
Ink-black circle,
Snuffing out the sun.

Raggedy Ann and Star #1

Star lapped some water from her water bowl then she munched on her food.

She went to her human, Raggedy Ann. Raggedy Ann picked up Star and put to pretty bows next to Star's ears. Then she put Star down. Raggedy Ann looked at the clock and saw that it was 9:30 p.m.

"Oh no!", said Raggedy Ann. "It's past our bedtime!", she said. "Let's get ready and go to bed."

So Raggedy Ann and Star went upstairs and into the bathroom. Then Raggedy Ann brushed her teeth and got her pajamas on, and then she went into her bedroom. She and Star snuggled up in bed together.

The Aurora Borealis

Red and green,
Purple and blue.
Vibrant colors stretch from the horizon towards the stars,
Connecting land and sky as one.

Turquoise ribbons,
Fly in the ink-black sky.
Lights flash like shredded rose petals,
Like a tornado heading sky wise.

Icy blue shadows,
A ghostly beauty in the stars.
A white light,
Flow in the sky like silk.

Crimson colored waves,
Ripple through the air.
Rainbow smears the sky,
Sparks of color,
Weld together in the starry sky.

Snow-striped pine trees,
Cover the snowy hills like tall shadows against the sky.
Sheets of green light sparkle in the air,
Pierce the sky with a warm glow.

Flashes of indigo,
Lilac and lavender,
Drift through the air,
And take shape of glorious ghostly ripples in the sky as if it were the sea.

Pink light-shadows,
Swirl and spin above in the dark.
Claw-like fingers,
Stretch upward, bound towards the stars.

Red and green,
Purple and blue.
Vibrant colors stretch from the horizon towards the stars,
Connecting land and sky as one.

Hi There, and No I'm Not Dead

Hi people. It's littlekitty5 here. And yes, I am possibly a zombie. A nice zombie who is good with children and eats brains for a hobby. A zombie who owns a lemonade stand by some abandoned road. A zombie who had a wife and kids before he became a cannibal and ate their brains.

So. Me. Zombies. Yeah.

Now then Kids Around the Fireplace In Which is Burning Brightly and Makes Me Scared of THE LIGHT, are you ready for some fun adventure? Some comedy in your life? Some zombie eating your brains? Yes, yes, I know, I know. The zombie jokes are getting pretty old. So let's make an agreement: You read on, no more zombie jokes.

My story:

________________________________________. ________________________. _______________. __________________________. _________.

The End.

Sorry people, my story was a fill-in-the-blank. The blanks being the blanks. Anywayz.

I just posted this post to let you guys and gals out there know I am very bad at blogs and I know I should be punished for doing only three posts but what happened happened and it turns out I came back and I'm STILL not going to post a lot.

*pant* *pant* Darn my horribly long paragraphs.

Cat Care: Caring for Kittens

Feeding Your Kitten: Chapter One

Kittens are very delicate and kind little animals. It is important for kitten owners to remember that kittens are only babies. They need special care, like a human baby. Most of all, they need a mother. But, when a kitten is older and does not need its mother's milk any more, he or she will have to have nutritious kitten food. A brand of cat food that I recommend (and is vet recommended) is hill's pet food. Here is a link to their website: http://www.hillspetfood.com/cat-care.html. You can buy cat food specifically designed for ether kittens, adult cats, or mature adult cats.
A Balanced Diet

Having had many kittens in my house myself, I know that they need a healthy and balanced diet. All cats need fats, calcium, sodium, carbohydrates, phosphorus, proteins, and omegas three and six. Cats also need vitamins A, D, C, and E. All of these vitamins, minerals and other nutrients have different and important benefits. For kittens, it is critical for their growth to have these things.

You can give wet food once in a while, but usually wet food does not have as many nutrients as dry food. Also, dry cat food is good for a cat's teeth. A cat has to have clean teeth. Like humans, dirty and unhealthy teeth can lead to health problems. Simimoist cat food is also a choice of cat food. It does not have the same benefits as dry cat food, but semimoist cat food can be used as cat treats (also try using damp cat wet food or small bits of cheese for treats).

For more information on feeding your cat the right food, view my blog post 'Kitty Tips-Feeding Your Cat'. Here is a link to that post: http://thepurplepaw.blogspot.com/2011/11/kitty-tips-feeding-your-cat.html Thank you!

A Healthy, Happy Kitty

From when a cat is a kitten to an adult, they are always looking for pants to chew on. This is an instinct that the cat has. In the wild, away from the protection of a human home, cats chew on wild, long grasses. These grasses circle any poisonous or indigestible foods. This food is than regurgitated. This is good for a stray cat. It keeps the cat healthy. But inside, a cat has to eat different plants. Some plants are poisonous to cats and may kill the cat or make him or her sick if she or he eats them. Some of these plants include mistletoe, ivy, buckeye, corn plants, Castor bean, lilies, morning glory, poinsettia, daffodil, holly, dumb cane, clematis, foxglove, iris, rubber plants, weeping figs and yew. These are not all of the plants that are poisonous to cats. These are just a few that I wanted to list.

To stop your cat from eating your plants, you can keep a special kind of grass in your house for your cat. This grass is good for your cat to eat and will keep your cat away from your house plants.

There are also plants that are not poisonous. The spider plant is among the many. Cats can chew on the leaves of the spider plant and other non-poisonous plants and special grasses in safety.

A picture of a spider plant:

Keep in mind: Buy healthy cat foods full of the nutrients that a growing cat (or adult cat) needs, like hill's science diet pet foods. Dry food is healthier for a cat's teeth than wet or semimoist cat foods. Do not have poisonous plants in your cat's reach. Buy no-toxic plants like the spider plant and non-poisonous grasses.

Using the right knowledge of how to care for your kitten, I can assure you that you kitten will grow up to be a very healthy kitty.

Cat Care: Introduction

Introduction

T
his book* is all about caring for a animal loved by people worldwide; the cat. Over 75 million cats inhabit homes in the U.S.A., but not everyone knows how to properly care for their feline friends. Caring for your cat in the best way possible isn't very hard. This book will explain what to do to care for your cat and how to do it. Hopefully, people listen to my words and don't harm their cats by mistreating them.

The chapters of this book will be chock full of information about caring for your kitty friend. I hope that you will enjoy reading this book.

*Information about 'Cat Care': This "book" for 'The Purple Paw' is going to be a series on this blog. See the title? It reads: 'Cat Care: Introduction'. Where it says 'Introduction', instead it might read: 'Caring for Kittens'. These are parts, not chapters. They are segments of the parts that explain certain ways, in this case, to care for kittens. These might be titled 'Grooming your Kitten'. Do you see where this post reads in bold lettering 'Introduction'? That is where the post will tell readers what it will be explaining. This might read 'Grooming your Cat: Chapter Three'.

The reason I am calling this series a "book" is because I am designing it like a book. With many parts and chapters, all full of information on caring for your cat, I hope that you will enjoy!

Kittens!

Yesterday night, from before 12:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Glimmer had her kittens! There are four of them, one is an orange tabby tom. He was the first to be welcomed into the world. Then came a little pure white she-cat. Next came a tiny tan kitten. And, finally, a little tabby kitten with a orange, rounded diamond-shaped spot on her forehead. They're all so adorable!

I adore the four little kittens. They have endeared themselves to my heart, and I will never forget them. I will always remember that night and those days that they spent with me. I feel honored to have such a good mother and such a sweet little bunch of kittens sharing my house with me. I think that a kitten is the best medicine for a heartache.

I want to share a picture of the new little sweethearts that are sharing the warmth and shelter of my house with me with you. Here they are, all curled up next to Mama:

Aren't they adorable? Glimmer is a very proud mama! Here is another picture of them that I hope that you will enjoy:

That's the last picture. I wish these kittens many happy years filled with love and joy.

Dear Diary...11#

Hello!

Yesterday, March 31, was Cosmo's birthday! I gave him four balls, a package of catnip, some treats, a can of wet food, a pipe cleaner and lots of love. Cosmo (and the other cats!) enjoyed his gifts. He didn't mind sharing the wet food. Glimmer, the newest cat here (I found her as a pregnant stray), especially enjoyed the special wet food treat. Cosmo's day was full of love and happiness. I hope that he had a good day.

Cosmo's day went something like this: First thing in the morning, I told him happy birthday and pet him. Right after that, I gave him water, his favorite kind of water. Tub water! When he finished that, I scooped the litter boxes, swept the cat room (the room that I keep the cat food, water and litter boxes) and gave the cats fresh water and dry food. Then, I ate breakfast. When I finished my food, it was time for Cosmo to open his presents. First I gave him two of the balls (these balls are red and blue. They are also small and are covered in round tipped spikes) and his green pipe cleaner. Then he got his treats. After he opened and ate a few of the treats, he opened the last two balls (a soft, fuzzy yellow ball and a tinfoil-crinkly silver and purple ball. Both large). Then he opened his catnip (and ate some) and his wet food. Everyone enjoyed the wet food. Then he was pet and I did his tricks (come, sit, stand and retrieve). After that came lunch, and then, in the afternoon, Cosmo slept away the rest of the day in the sunshine.

Today is April Fools! I hope that everyone enjoys this day. Also, on April 8, is Easter! I hope that I can get a idea about what special thing that I should do on the holidays. If you have an idea, comment on this post or on the page titled 'Comment Your Questions'. Thank you!
